Environment for the Evaluation of Hybrid (Classical-Quantum) Systems Analyzability

Our colleagues Ana Díaz, Javier Verdugo, Moisés Rodríguez and Mario Piattini, in collaboration with Jose Antonio Cruz-Lemus from UCLM and Rafael Martinez-Gasca from the University of Seville, have published the article Environment for the Evaluation of Hybrid (Classical-Quantum) Systems Analyzability in the IEEE Software journal, currently available in Early Access mode.

Quantum computing is growing rapidly, making it possible to tackle problems that traditional computers cannot solve effectively. However, quantum computing will not replace traditional computing, but rather the two will coexist in hybrid systems. As with conventional software, it is essential to assess and ensure the quality of these new hybrid systems, especially their maintainability.

In this paper we present a methodological and technological environment consisting of a set of properties and metrics and automated tools that allow assessments of the analyzability of hybrid software, one of the sub-characteristics of maintainability. Furthermore, our proposal has been applied to a real case of hybrid product, demonstrating its usefulness.
